Shipping & Delivery Policy

This Shipping Policy explains how delivery works when you order from Dakar and outlines your rights under UK consumer law.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights.


1. Delivery Method

  • Delivery is kerbside (curbside) only

  • The customer must ensure that:

    • Someone is available to receive and sign for the delivery

    • Appropriate staff or equipment are available to safely move the goods after delivery

  • Some items are delivered on a pallet due to size or weight


2. Failed or Rearranged Deliveries

If delivery cannot be completed because:

  • No one is available to receive the goods

  • Access is not possible

  • Delivery is refused

An additional delivery charge may apply for rearranged delivery.
Any applicable charges will be communicated clearly before re-delivery is arranged.


3. Inspection on Delivery

We strongly recommend that customers inspect the goods upon delivery, where reasonably possible.

However, signing for delivery does not remove or limit your legal rights.


4. Damaged or Faulty Goods

If your item arrives damaged or faulty:

  • Please notify us as soon as reasonably possible after delivery

  • Photographic evidence may be requested to help assess the issue

  • You are entitled to remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015

For items that are damaged, faulty, or not as described:

  • Dakar will arrange a replacement or refund

  • No additional delivery or collection charges will apply

  • Your statutory rights are fully protected

There is no fixed time limit that removes your right to report delivery damage, provided the issue is reported within a reasonable period.


5. Risk and Responsibility

Goods remain at Dakar’s risk until they are delivered to you.

Once delivery has been completed, responsibility passes to the customer, except where a fault or damage existed at the time of delivery.


6. Delivery Delays and Availability

All deliveries are subject to availability and logistics conditions.

If delivery is delayed or a product becomes unavailable after purchase, we will contact you promptly to offer:

  • A revised delivery date

  • A replacement item

  • Or a full refund
